What's the big idea?
Objective: Create a piece of art as a reaction to a specific Anishinaabe HIstorical event.
1. Look at and discuss artwork of American Native people.
2. Research Anishinabe
3. Write a short paragraph about the historical event of your choice.
4. Brainstorm colors, symbols and other visual clue that will assist in communicating that story.
5. Create a sketch for your 2-D or 3-D piece of art as a reaction to the historical event.
6. Share your plan with a classmate to critique each other’s work/idea.
7. Create your artwork as a reaction to the historical event.
8. Write an artist statement, describing the event as well as reasoning for the artistic choices.
