Abstract painting Lesson
Start by completing a contour drawing of the still life set on the center table. The drawing should be detailed but not small. In fact, the drawing needs to be so large that the image falls off the page on ALL 4 SIDES. |

Gradation for abstract painting |
After drawing, choose a color scheme. The options are:
Monochromatic (tints and shades of one color) Analogous (3 colors that touch on the color wheel) This is the most difficult to achieve visual interest since there is little contrast. Complementary (two colors opposite of each other on the color wheel) You may NOT combine the color schemes. You must include at least 2 or more gradations (gradual change from one color to another) but may have more. You must completely paint the entire paper. Your name is signed in PAINT on the front when you are finished. Make sure it isn't distracting. As always, your composition and craftsmanship count towards the grade. |
