Jim Dine Tools with a twist
Jim Dine is known for painting and or drawing tools. We are borrowing this idea but with a twist. While he may have had a collection of tools, we are going to focus on just one tool but from a variety of perspectives.
PhotographChoose an interesting tool. Photograph that tool from a variety of perspectives and angles. Use string to hold the tool at the angle you want to photograph.

Contour drawDraw the tool from the photographs. Keep the proportions but play with sizing. Some tools should be large, some small. Include overlapping to create depth. Create an interesting composition using the rule of thirds.

Oil PastelUse non-local color (meaning avoid realistic colors) to fill in the tools. Continue to add depth and interest by layering additional colors.
